Waiting on Wednesday - Pacific NW edition

Waiting on Wednesday
is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine
that showcases upcoming releases
that people are very much anticipating.

Here on Novels, News and Notes we are a Pacific Northwest Blog so we will be sticking with our most anticipated NW releases. Makes sense right?

Plus there are a TON of wonderful upcoming releases that we are excited for.

After reading this author's Young Adult Mystery books, Mel's anticipation is high for this upcoming new Young Adult Mystery series:

'The Body in the Woods' (Point Last Seen series) by April Henry will release in June 17th, 2014. 'The Body in the Woods' will release in Hardcover at 272 pages and will be published by Henry Holt & Co.

Alexis, Nick, and Ruby have very different backgrounds: Alexis has spent her life covering for her mom’s mental illness, Nick’s bravado hides his fear of not being good enough, and Ruby just wants to pursue her eccentric interests in a world that doesn’t understand her. When the three teens join Portland County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, they are teamed up to search for a autistic man lost in the woods. What they find instead is a dead body. In a friendship that will be forged in danger, fear and courage, the three team up to find the girl’s killer—before he can strike one of their own.

This first book in April Henry’s Point Last Seen YA mystery series is full of riveting suspense, putting readers right in the middle of harrowing rescues and crime scene investigations.  I for one LOVE all of April's books and have even sent her messages via twitter to comment on content as I was reading her books.  My favorite part is that April not only does research but attends a Writer's Police Academy where she learns how to take down a criminal and drive an ambulance simulator.  Here is one of April's photo from her blogpost about going to the Academy this year.  Want to see more photos? This blog post is a fun read!
